Mettam’s Pool is a popular snorkeling destination that lies between Trigg Point and Hamersley Pool. The location is sheltered from waves and offers ideal conditions for scuba training and snorkeling. The average depth here is at 2 m/6.6 ft and the maximum is at 3 m/9.8 ft. In addition, visibility is excellent, usually over 30 m/98.4 ft.
Snorkelers are able to come along an outstanding marine life, with various sea stars, sea anemones, beautiful shells, colorful reef fish and other species, including western blue devil, stripeys, boxfish, old wives, schools of bream and red lipped morwong to name just a few.
It should be mentioned that Mettam’s Point is usually crowded, especially during weekends. Last but not least, the dive site is appropriate for snorkelers of all levels, especially for beginners.
