Point Cartwright is an exposed reef and point break that offers consistent surf conditions. Offshore winds blow from the south and the ideal swell direction is from the east, southeast. On this spot, surfers are able to explore the waves with swell sizes from 1 m-1.5 m/3 ft-5 ft and holding up to 3 m/10 ft. In addition, the best tide movement is falling tide and the ideal tide position is mid tide. Furthermore, the surf site is suitable for more experienced surfers and provides with good surf at all stages of the tide.
The average water temperature is around 28°C/82.4°F in summer and around 20°C/68°F in winter. In summer, the wind blows offshore at 35%, in autumn the wind blows at 57%, in winter at 44% and in spring at 30%. Point Cartwright is usually uncrowded. Last but not least, if you decide to surf at this place, do not miss to visit Point Cartwright Light, which is an active lighthouse, that lies on Point Cartwright. Note: be careful of sharks, rips and rocks.
