Bilgola beach is 500 km/310 mi long and provides with good facilities and excellent surfing conditions, especially at the north end.
This beautiful spot is an exposed reef break that has dependable surf at all stages of the tide. At the north end of the beach is a high headland that attracts more experienced surfers. The best tide movement is all tides. The ideal wind direction is from the north, northwest and the best swell direction is from the northeast.
In summer the wind blows offshore at 22%, in autumn the wind blows at 19%, in winter at 15% and in spring at 20%. Surfers can explore the waves with swell sizes from 3 ft (1 m) to 6 ft (2 m). This spot can produce excellent waves all year long. The average water temperature is about 21°C/69.8°F. Bilgola beach is the best place for surfers who hate beach crowds. Watch out for urchins, rocks and rips.
