The town hosts many interesting historical sites and is famous for its Kona Coffee cultivations and the crystal clear sea. Kona International Airport is located at fifteen minutes away in the south of the main town.
Along the sea side, there are shops and schools to buy or rent diving gear as well as take lessons if you are a beginner. Sixth Hole spot is ideal for beginners. It provides with an average depth of 15 m/49.2 ft and maximum depth 18.3 m/60 ft with no sea currents and excellent visibility.
The biodiversity of the bottom is interesting with a lot of colored tropical fish, dolphins, sea turtles, Manta Rays and corals. Sixth Hole Spot is accessible only by boat from the Honokohau Marina where you can charter a boat.
North Head is the northern headland of the entrance to Sydney Harbor. All along this section, there are several excellent dive sites. Old Mans Hat is one of them.
