Diamond Head Trail is located on the Central Cascade Mountain, at the Wenatchee National Forest. It is 5 mi/8 km long (out and back), about seven hours walk, with an elevation gain of 1800 ft/548 m. The trail is open for snowshoeing from December through late March.
Diamond Head Trail is not recommended for beginners. It is a strenuous trek on a monolith rock, lots of snow and sparkling sunshine. You walk through dark forests and open meadows with untouched snow and as soon as you get on the top of Diamond Head, the view is breathtaking. You will also come across a wide variety of plants and animals to observe. Don’t forget to take with you a map and a compass.
