Noarlunga Tyre Reef, a popular site among beginner divers, is an artificial reef, made up entirely of old tyres, laid there to attract fish for breeding purposes. Although the tyres have started to scatter in the sea, it remains an interesting dive, due to the spectacular marine life you will encounter. Be prepared to see leather jackets, whitings, cuttlefish, old wives, strongies, silver drummers and many spider crabs.
