Masella is a ski resort in the Pyrenees mountains, belonging to Alp’s municipality, in La Cerdanya in Girona. It lies on La Tossa d’Alp mountain, and with La Molina form the Alp 2500 resort. The temperature varies from 1°C to 15°C/33.80°F to 59°F throughout the year, with February being the coldest month.
With 457 snow cannons, it’s open for winter sports for about five months per season. The forest extends along at 80% of its pistes and 90% at face north. It offers the largest vertical drop in the Eastern Pyrenees 935 m/3067 ft with 74 km/46 mi of total snowboarding terrain. Lowest altitude is at 1600 m/5249 ft at Pla de Masella, with a maximum height of 2535 m/8316 ft at La Tosa.
There are 9 beginner, 24 intermediate, and 22 advanced pistes available. This is the ideal spot for high speed snowboarding, with boarders from all over the world riding here. You can move in the area by using 5 chairlifts, 7 draglifts, 2 rope tows and 4 transporting tapes.
You can find plenty of services in the area like children facilities, medical support, lockers and cafes. There are a lot of training schools, clubs and shops in the area where you can buy, repair or even rent your snowboard equipment.
