Beyond the Elbrus village, all of the modern slopes are covered with dark conifers. The highway is flanked with pines that are thickly grown on both sides. Ahead of you the slopes of Cheget are revealing themselves.
At first the mountain and the threadlike cable-ways are visible, starting in the wooded foothills. Later while approaching, you can discern the downward trails of the skiers and the characteristic humps of snow that are formed when many skiers descent one after another.
On the Cheget slopes, you will find good trails, suitable for training and competitions. Nursery slopes for beginners and holidaymakers are available, in case you have no idea how to ski. Many Russian and international competitions are held there every year, as well as training and teaching courses for various sports teams. The number of the trails is 17, 2 for novices, 5 for intermediate, 5 for advanced and 5 for experts.
The cable-ways on Cheget, 4 in total, are fully appreciated, making every trip on one of them a small miracle. The trails of Cheget are considered to be among the most difficult ones of the world skiing resorts.
The amateurs of extreme sport will enjoy skiing trails of total length more than 20 km/12.8 mi The resort has many amenities, such as many hotels near most of the lifts, equipment rental, nightlife, repair equipment, supermarket and restaurants and cafes.
