The park was established in 1972. Caspar Headlands State Beach is a long-mile, undeveloped beach with a breathtaking panoramic ocean view. It is a very good place to observe the migrating whales. The weather is unpredictable, so layered clothes are recommended for visitors.
The facility owns parking area and restrooms. The small peeling waves inside the well protected cove are produced by the outer sandbar break. The cove has on both of its sides bluffs that protect the beach and the waves from northwesterly winds.
