Wirral Peninsula nestles between the River Dee and the River Mersey. West Kirby is a sandy beach, which offers stunning views of part of the North Wales coastline and also of the Hilbre Island, that are accessible by foot from the beach, at low tide.
Kite surfing is relatively new to this area, but it is becoming increasingly popular, especially at high tide. The beach offers good wind conditions and flat, shallow water, as it is sheltered by the Hilbre Island. Note that, it is suitable for both the beginner and the more experienced kiter. In addition, the location accommodates northerly and southerly winds.
If you don’t have previous experience or you wish to improve your skills, then you should visit the kite-surfing school, that is located in the area. The optimum time to visit the spot is from April to October. Finally, the location caters good facilities, also including car parking.
