Rappelling /Abseiling in Kaaimans Gorge, Garden Route, Western Cape South Africa

Height:
45m/147ft
Garden Route is a popular stretch of the south-eastern coastline of South Africa. It is sand-witched between the Indian Ocean and the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma Mountains. It has a mild oceanic climate with mild to warm summers and mild to cool winters and considered second mildest climate after Hawaii according to the Guinness Book of Records.

The serene Kaaimans Gorge offers an abseil sight of a life time. The spot is right next to a waterfall, and is a breathtaking 45 m/147 ft height abseil. You get to abseil not once, but twice at least!!! The first abseil is normally to get a grip of the whole idea and gaining more trust on the ropes.

The second abseil is now the real thing!! It is more technical and thrilling as you get to land in a canoe at the bottom!! Point to consider here is to avoid wearing slippery shoes. No need of any experience… just the nerve to abseil!!
