Mountain Biking in Oleta River State Park, Miami, Florida USA
Apart from the fact that the city is a must for water sports as it provides easy access into endless sandy beaches with sparkling waters, Miami also hosts amazing recreational parks within the city, offering a wide variety of fun activities.
Oleta River State Park is Florida’s biggest park and is located in the banks of the Oleta River. Situated close to downtown Miami and with many facilities and outdoor activities available, this green urban paradise is a perfect destination for mountain bikers.
With a network of more than 15 mi/24 km of long trails, the park is considered to be one of South Florida’s top mountain biking rides. Under the shade of tall pine trees and lush nature, the single track trails provide the bikers with a number of climbs and downhills as well as switchbacks roots and rocks along the rough trails. There are smooth sections as well as banked corners that allow you to maintain high speed for maximum fun.
For the newcomers to the mountain biking world, the park provides a 3 mi/5 km long paved trail and 4 mi/6.4 km long of novice trails to practice before one goes off road. Even if you don’t own a bike, you can rent one within the park and enjoy a great ride. Along the way, you will find primitive cabins and picnic tables to relax and enjoy your day at the park.
