Longmont is located northeast of the county seat of Boulder, about 31 mi/49.9 km north-northwest of the Colorado state capitol in Denver. It is a home rule municipality in Boulder, Weld Counties in the U.S. state of Colorado.

It is an easy going community only 16 mi/25.8 km away from Boulder. Mountain biking is one of the most popular sports in Boulder. One of the best trails is Meyers Homestead Trail. This trail is a wonderful beginner’s ride. It is a wide doubletrack trail, that doesn’t have so many loose sand, rocks or roots.

It gets a little tougher as it climbs to its finishing point. When you arrive at the turnout point, you can stop and enjoy an amazing view of Sugarloaf Mountain, where Switzerland Trail begins at the base, Continental Divide, Indian Peaks and Boulder Canyon.

The trail is 5.3 mi/8.5 km long with an elevation gain of 700 ft/213.3 m. Skill level is regarding physical level, easy and as for technical level, easy too. Trail type is out and back.
