Gauteng is the smallest province in South Africa yet its economic power house. It is located in the heart of South Africa's Highveld Region and is highly urbanized and densely populated. Gauteng offers το its visitors an option to explore the hustle and bustle of its urban life or the natural attractions outside its main cities, Johannesburg and Pretoria.

Apart from the fact that Groenkloof Nature reserve offers an amazing scenery comprising of indigenous game and the nearby Pretoria’s city sky scrappers, it also promises a challenging mountain biking adventure. The trails is a 20 km/12 mi circuit route ranging from intermediate to hard in level of difficulty.

Its rocky terrain offers a rewarding riding experience especially for the advanced rider. The trail mainly consists of tarred road, jeep track, single track and steep rocky tracks and lasts between 1-4 hours. The spot is open all year round although during summer season, it can get really hot.

How to Get to Destination

BY CAR FROM Johannesburg
13.6km/8.4miles 20 minutes
Head east towards Delvers St and take the 2nd left onto Error St. Turn left to take M31 and continue with M31 then turn right onto Ring Road west taking the right onto Fore St and then continue to take the left onto Launceston Rd and onto Gauteng.
