La Perouse is a very popular location among water-sports enthusiasts. Windsurfers can explore the waves with swell sizes that holds up to 4-5 ft/1.2-1.52 m. Thanks to Botany bay, you are able to windsurf in almost any wind direction, but the ideal wind direction is from the southwest. The spot is suitable for all levels of surfers.
Water temperature is up to 21°C/69.8°F in summer and during early autumn months and between 14-18°C/57.2-64.4°F in winter. The site is offshore in a northeast breeze that is up to 5 knots stronger at this spot than it is at other windsurf spots of Botany bay.
Apart from windsurfing, there is a variety of activities, attractions, restaurants and bars available along Sydney’s southern peninsula. Last but not least, take a coastal walk through the National Park and admire the amazing ocean and Botany bay views.
