Mandurah is the second-largest city in Western Australia and it is situated at about 72 km/45 mi in the south of the capital city, Perth. The climate is classified as Mediterranean, with hot and dry summers and cool and wet winters. The seaside town and all the section of the coastline attract a large number of tourists and sport enthusiasts all year long.

Avalon Point is a very popular surf break that offers reliable surf, but it tends to be flat in summer. Offshore winds blow from the east, southeast and the ideal swell direction is from the west, southwest. Surfers are able to explore the waves with swell sizes that can hold up to 3 m-3.5 m/10 ft-12 ft. In addition, the spot is suitable for surfers of all levels.

In summer, the wind blows offshore at 49%, in autumn the wind blows at 54%, in winter at 37% and in spring at 43%. Furthermore, the best tide movement is rising and falling tides and the ideal tide position is mid and high tide. Keep in mind that, you will have much competition for waves here, as it is a crowded site.

Last but not least, Mandurah is home to a variety of hotels, cosy bars and good restaurants to relax and have fun after a performance of your favorite sport. Note: be careful of sharks and urchins.
