El Formigal is a ski resort located in the Aragon’s Pyrenees mountains, near the borders of northern Spain with France. Temperatures vary from 3°C/37.4°F to 24°C/75.2°F with January being the coldest month.
The spot constitutes an ideal location for skiing, offering 90 pistes of a total of 137 km (85 mi), with a 750 m (2460 ft) vertical drop. It has 11 chair lifts, 7 ski tows and 4 carpet lifts with the first chair lift being situated at 1500 m (4921 ft).
The peak of the resort is Tres Hombres at 2250 m (7381 ft) and among the 90 available pistes, 7 are for beginners (green), 18 are easy (blue), 33 are intermediate (red) and 39 are for expert (black) skiers. There are a few shops, training schools and clubs in the area where you can buy, repair or even rent your equipment.
