Viganj is a small picturesque village on the west side of the southern coast of Peljesac Peninsula, bordered by the Adriatic Sea. The spot is among the most beautiful coastal places in Croatia. Located in a wonderful bay at the edge of a forested zone within Peljesac channel, Viganj has become a hot spot for kite-surfers from all over the world and a perfect place for summer holidays.

Favored by the Mediterranean climate, Viganj has long and hot dry summers with an average temperature of 25 °C/ 77 °F . The beach is located in the narrowest part of the channel, between Peljesac and Korcula and as the wind accelerates twice as fast as it does in the Adriatic Sea, the beach has become a favorite spot for kite-surfing for both local and foreign visitors.

The best wind direction is when coming from Southeast and West and the side onshore winds that blow mainly in the afternoon, providing ideal conditions for free style and bump & jump kite-surfing. The sea is crystal clear and has no tide dependency.

Suitable for both beginner and advanced kiters, Viganj Beach provides everything you need on spot, with schools, gear rental and repairs, launch area, showers and beach bars. If you wish to ride the high winds, then the best season to visit the spot is from June to late August. Note that the beach is ultra crowded during the summer months. Kite-surfers should be careful of bathers and windsurfers.
