Dollymount is a long, sandy beach, that is located on the Bull Island, just 9 km/5.6 mi from Dublin. The location is very popular for the adrenaline sport enthusiasts, offering great sea breeze conditions for both the novice and advanced kite-surfers.
There is a designated launch area at the southern end of the beach, so there is plenty of space to take off even at high tide. In addition, the optimum wind direction is from the south, southwest and the waves tend to be both right and left beach breakers. It is advisable to wear a kite leash. Last but not least, there are kite-surfing schools and rental shops, in case you need help or equipment.
