Spring Lake Beach, Spring Lake
Spring Lake is a borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The spot is commonly known as the "Jewel of Jersey Shore". New Jersey Monthly magazine ranked it as the 240th best place to live in New Jersey.
It is a retro beach and town, reminiscent of the 1950’s. It is full of natural bluffs, seal rookery and wetlands. When a visitor is walking through the trail, he/she is surrounded by intoxicating scents of eucalyptus, ocean and wild foliage alongside with the chilling sounds of the waves, children that are laughing, frog serenade in the lagoon, happy dogs and even the passing trains.
The place is popular for body-boarding. Wave quality is normal and there is no previous experience needed in order to body-board in this beach. The type of the wave is beach – break and the direction are both left and right.
Good swell direction comes from west, southwest and the size of the swell starts form less than 1 m/3 ft and holds up to 2 m+/6 ft. Best tide position is mid and high and best tide movement is rising and falling tides.
