Pocket is located close to another popular surf break, Point Cartwright and it is an exposed reef break with very reliable surf conditions. The best wind direction is from the west and the ideal swell direction is from the east, southeast. On this spot surfers are able to explore the waves with swell sizes from 1 m/3 ft and holding up to 3 m/10 ft. In addition, the best tide movement is rising tide and the ideal tide position is mid and high tide. Furthermore, the surf site is suitable for all surfers and the optimum period for waves is winter.
The average water temperature is around 28°C/82.4°F in summer and around 20°C/68°F in winter. In summer, the wind blows offshore at 7%, in autumn the wind blows at 14%, in winter at 25% and in spring at 11%. Pocket is popular with surfers and body-boarders, so it is usually crowded.
