Offshore winds blow from the southwest and the ideal swell direction is from the south, southwest. Surfers can explore the waves with swell sizes from 1 m/3 ft and holding up to 2.5 m/8 ft. The best tide movement is rising tide and the ideal tide position is low tide only.
In summer, the wind blows offshore at 32%, in autumn the wind blows at 36%, in winter at 31% and in spring at 33%. The site is suitable for experienced surfers. Keep in mind that, the best period for waves is winter when the average maximum sea temperature is 12°C/53.6°F. Last but not least, May’s Point is usually crowded during weekends. Note: watch out for rocks and localism.
