Shepra Peak is a satellite summit of Mount Stuart and one of the most unique peaks of the Cascades, because of the balanced rock at the top of the mountain. The easiest way to approach the West Ridge Route is from the Longs Pass Trail, which is at 2.5 mi/4 km in the southwest of Shepra Peak. It will take you eight to ten hours to get there.
The top elevation of the mountain is at 8605 ft/2622 m, suitable for climbing from May to October. The skill level required for this climb is grade II, class 5,5 suitable for all climbers. West Ridge Route is a pleasant, alpine rock climb, and can be combined with Mount Stuart climb in a two day adventure trip in the wild nature of the Cascades. You will need a map and a compass and a 60 m/196 ft rope with you.
