Savannah is the county seat of Chatham County and the oldest city in Georgia, USA. The city was established in 1733 and at the same year it became the colonial capital of the Georgia Province and later the first capital of Georgia. Today, Savannah is a strategic port city, industrial center and a very important Atlantic seaport.

The Hostess City of the South, as Savannah is known between locals is the fifth largest city in Georgia and situated on the Savannah River, from whom it was named after, about 20 mi / 32 km upriver from the Atlantic Ocean.

If you find yourself in Savannah, don’t miss to visit the South End on Tybee Island, an awesome and extremely popular beach among kitesurfers. It is located in the southernmost tip of the island and offers the right conditions for an amazing kitesurfing experience.

There are a lot of schools in the vicinity of the spot, with qualified instructors that will teach you the appropriate techniques to enjoy this activity for good. The spot is addressed to both experts and novices of kite surfing.

On spot you will find steady winds, shallow flat type water and beach-break waves that come from both right and left directions. Furthermore, the bottom of the beach is sandy. The wind blows from the majority of directions ( NE, E, SE, S, SW, and W) with speed ranging from 12 to 18 kn/ 22 to 33 kph year round. During spring and fall, you willl find the strongest winds.
