Sonora Pass is located near Pinecrest, Tuolumne County, California, USA. It is off of Highway about 60 miles/96.5 km east of Sonora.

There are some very popular trails for horseback riding in Sonora Pass. One of the best trails is Clark Fork to Highland Lakes. For riders camped to Clark Fork Horse Camp, the trail up Arnot Creek makes a very adventurous ride with amazing vistas of the countryside, surrounding it.

A very good way to enjoy this ride is by having somebody else with you to drive around Highland Lakes on Ebbetts Pass and wait there with a camp set up and a cooler full of cold drinks. It is a 9 mi/14.48 km trail with climbs of 2500 ft/762 m.

Lower elevation riding places are very popular for horseback riding and include Bourland Meadow, Deer Creek, Thompson Meadow, Camp Clavey and Reynolds Creek. These places are on their biggest part south of Long Barn.
