Puerto Rico is situated in the northeastern Caribbean and consists of an archipelago that includes the main island of Puerto Rico and a number of smaller islands. The climate here is classified as a tropical marine climate, with an average temperature of 82.4°F/ 28°C, throughout the year. Although it is a small island, the smallest island of the Greater Antilles, Puerto Rico provides superb natural surroundings, countless adventure experiences and many places of historical interest.

Isla Verde is a wonderful tourist resort with many accommodation options along the coastline and a variety of restaurants, bars and shops in a short walk from the beach. Pine Grove is located in Isla Verde and is considered to be an excellent surf spot for beginners, because of its short length and well-formed waves.

The swell sizes usually start from 1 m-1.5 m/3 ft-5 ft and can hold up to 2 m/6 ft. The site provides very consistent surf and is suitable for surfers of all levels. The best tide position is mid and high tide and the best tide movement is rising tide. In addition, the optimum wind direction is from the south and the ideal swell direction is from the north and northwest. It should be mentioned that Pine Grove offers both left and right hand waves.

If you hate beach crowds, then you should visit this place on weekdays. Last but not least, Puerto Rico has a great number of surf schools, in case you want to learn the basics or improve your technique. Note: be careful of urchins and buoys.
