Perth is the capital city of Western Australia, located on the Swan River. The climate here is classified as Mediterranean, with hot and dry summers and cool and wet winters. But that is not all, Perth offers a variety of sports and leisure activities to sport lovers. Cottesloe beach is a famous surfing beach, especially during summer month, when the thermal winds are in favour of surfing enthusiasts. It is an exposed beach break, offering reliable surf at any time of the year. In addition, it provides both left and right hand waves. Surfers are able to explore the waves with swell sizes that can start from 1 m/3 ft and hold up to 5 m/16 ft.

Offshore winds blow from the east, southeast and the ideal swell direction is from the west, southwest. In addition, the surf break is suitable for experienced surfers. In summer, the wind blows offshore at 48%, in autumn the wind blows at 55%, in winter at 39% and in spring at 43%.

Furthermore, the best tide position is all tides and the ideal tide movement is rising and falling tides. Finally, Cottesloe beach is an ultra crowded place with scuba divers, windsurfers and other surfers. Note: be careful of sharks, locals and rips.

12.1km/7.5mi, 20mins
Head south on William St / State Route 53 in Wesley Arcade. Continue along Riverside Drive / State Route 5. Continue to follow the State Route 5. Turn right at Eric St / State Route 71. Go through one roundabout. Turn left at Curtin AveStripste the 3rd right onto Forrest St. Go through one roundabout. Turn right into Marine Parade / Tourist Drive 204.
