The town is surrounded by Lake Wakatipu and the awe-inspiring Southern Alps, with spectacular mountains such as the Remarkables, Cecil Peak and Ben Lomond. For the snow kiting lovers, the Remarkables is one of the best places to visit. It is one of the biggest ski resorts near Queenstown, within 45 min drive to the Southwest. The site is open from late June to October and offers a great variety of facilities.
