Whiteface Mountain is located in the town of Wilmington, approximately 13 mi (21 km) far from Lake Placid. The mountain’s east slope is home to the most well-known ski area, which hosted the alpine skiing competition of the 1980 Winter Olympics. The longest run is 2.1 mi/1.93 km and the annual snowfall reaches at 200 in/508 cm. All trails are formed by 98% of snowmaking.
