Bolsa Chica State Beach is a state park located in the south of Huntington Beach community of Sunset Beach, in Orange County, California, USA.
Bolsa Chica is a lovely, sandy beach, 3 mi/4.8 km away from Warner Avenue in Sunset Beach and south to Seapoint Avenue. Bolsa Chica offers excellent opportunities for bicycling. There is a path that runs across the beach through Huntington City Beach.
It is also a popular beach for RV camping and body-boarding. The optimum swell direction is from the southwest. The offshore winds come from northeast and the beach breaks are both left and right. One of the reasons that many people visit the spot is surf fishing, especially around Tidal Inlet Channel.
Adults must have fishing permit to fish here. You can also bird watch in Bolsa Chica Ecological Reverse, located across the Pacific Coast Highway. It is a beautiful place, worth visiting.
