Mark Occhilupo, the famous professional surfer and world champion made Cronulla beach a famous surf spot. The beach features a long stretch of sand, extending from Boat Harbor to North Cronulla. Cronulla Pools is appropriate for experienced surfers. The best wind direction is from the northwest, west and the ideal swell direction is from the southeast, east.
Surfers can explore the waves with swell sizes from 1 m/3 ft and holds up to 2 m/6 ft. The best tide movement is falling tide and the ideal tide position is mid and high tide. In summer the wind blows offshore at 14%, in autumn the wind blows at 28%, in winter at 35% and in spring at 21%.
The best time for waves is autumn. Finally, it is a great place for surfers who hate beach crowds. Watch out for rips and rocks.
