Murray’s Left is an exposed reef break, that was named after a local long boarder, Murray. It is located between Alexandra Headland surf break and Maroochydore beach. On this spot, surfers are able to explore the waves with swell sizes that can start from 1 m-1.5 m/3 ft-5 ft and hold up to 2 m/6 ft. The optimum wind direction is from the west, southwest and the ideal swell direction is from the east, southeast.
The average water temperature is around 28°C/82.4°F in summer and around 20°C/68°F in winter. In addition, the best tide movement is rising tide and the ideal tide position is low and mid tide. In summer, the wind blows offshore at 8%, in autumn the wind blows at 23%, in winter at 39% and in spring at 12%. Finally, the surf site is suitable for all surfers and it is usually crowded during weekends. Note: be careful of rips and rocks.
