Mornington Peninsula lies to the southeast of Melbourne, Victoria’s capital city. It is surrounded by Western Port to the east and Port Phillips to the west. There is a vast number of great surf sites all along this section. The Farm is a sheltered reef break next to Meanos surf spot.
Surfers can explore the waves with swell sizes from 1.5 m-2 m (5 ft-6 ft). The best tide movement is rising and falling tides and the ideal tide position is mid and high tide. In summer, the wind blows offshore at 39%, in autumn the wind blows at 49%, in winter at 50% and in spring at 49%. Offshore winds blow from the west and the ideal swell direction is from the southwest.
The spot is suitable for experienced surfers. Keep in mind that during summer the swell is often smaller. The Farm is a good location for surfers who prefer less crowded or isolated surfing locations. Last but not least, apart from surfing you can also explore the peninsula which is famous for the variety of beaches, the wineries and the mazes. Note: watch out for sharks and rocks.
