Rising from the Eastern Cape and running along the Kwazulu-Natal's western border, the Drakensberg mountain range is the highest in South Africa standing at 3482 m/11424 ft in height. The mountains are capped by a layer of basalt of 1400 m/4593 ft thick and offers amazing flora and fauna.
The Northern Drakensberg area of Bergville is home to some of the longest and fastest zip-lining tours with speeds of up to 60 kph/37 mph. Before experiencing the thrill, there is a 10 minute walk towards the first platform. There are six zip lines, sliding in total at 25 m/82 ft above the ground.
The longest cable stands at 230 m/143 ft in length. There is no need to worry about hitting the next slide since there are experienced guides who control the braking system. There is a weight limit of 120 kg/264 lb and minimum pax is 2. The zip-lining tour normally takes between 1-2 hours, depending on the group size.
