Adelaide is a popular destination for the lovers of windsurfing offering a great number of beaches suitable for this extreme sport. North Haven Beach, situated on the northwest side of the city, has North-Westerlies and therefore provides perfect slalom/speed conditions.
The North Haven Beach is now located between the northern breakwater and the older breakwater for Adelaide’s Outer Harbour. Try to go beyond the breakwater, as you will have many opportunities for good jumps. The wave size is perfect for the advanced/expert windsurfer. The winds have speeds from 10 to 20 kn/18.5-37 kph.
Note: Be careful of the occasional heavy seaweed.
