Berthoud Pass is located between Idaho Springs and Winter Park and is one of the closest areas in Denver for snowboarding. It belongs to Boulder County and is just an hour away.
The top of the pass is at 11307 ft/3446 m and has access to a wide array of backcountry stashes. Arapahoe Basin is located at 68 mi/109.4 km in the west of Denver, in Summit County and it is one popular snowboard destination, with average snowfall of 350 in/889 cm.
The half of the mountain is above timberline with an open bowl snowboarding during spring and early summer. One of its signature runs is Pallavicini, which is one of the longest and steepest trails in Colorado. Vertical rise is at 2270 ft/691.9 m. Base elevation is at 10780 ft/3286 m and top elevation at 13050 ft/3978 m.
The spot provides with 109 trails while its longest run covers 1.5 mi/2.4 km. Spot’s skiable area covers a 960 ac/3.88 km² terrain and snowmaking acres are 125/0.50 km². Available lifts include 1 high speed quad chairlift, 1 quad chairlift, 1 triple chairlift, three double chairlifts and 2 conveyor lifts. Lift capacity is 10700 passengers/hour. Terrains are 10% for beginners, 30% intermediate, 37% advanced and 23% expert.
