Memi Mine, Troodos

by
/ Cyprus

Northwest of Xyliatos village, up on Troodos Mountains in the Nicosia district and less than 1000 m / 0.62 mi from the village center, lies a huge circular crater; a remnant of the mine that was once there from 1954 to 1990. The crater is located right where the ore export point used to be. Following an initiative of the local Community Council, the mine has been filled with rainwater. The result is phenomenal. A peculiar lake dominates now the surrounding mountains.

/ Peloponnese Region Greece

Messinia is a stunning and remote corner in Southwestern Peloponnese region in Greece. It’s a place with well-preserved historical monuments, peaceful and hospitable residents and of course, the trademark of whole Greece, beautiful, clean, unspoiled beaches. Few places on earth are blessed with the beauty and riches of Messinia and nowhere else in Greece is the Mediterranean landscape so well presented.

The island nation of Maldives is found in the Indian Ocean, southwest of India and Sri Lanka in the Laccadive Sea or Lakshadweep Sea. Comprised of more than a thousand islands grouped in 26 atolls, it enjoys a tropical climate with hot and humid days and temperatures around 24-33°C/75-91°F year-round. The southwest Monsoon brings significant rain to the area from April to October, particularly June to August. Don't let the rain deter you from visiting though, as what you can suspect from the coconut palm and the yellow-fin tuna, symbols of this island nation, the Maldives is a paradise on earth synonym to memorable experiences!
