Skydiving in Methven, South Island, Canterbury New Zealand
Methven has hot and dry summers, with temperatures that can reach up to 30°C/86°F, and cold winters with frequent snowfalls in the surrounding mountains. Although during summer it remains a relaxed and uncrowded town, during winter it is converted to a tourist attraction due to the nearby ski fields.
Extreme sport lovers can enjoy skydiving here in Methven. Jump (either strapped to your instructor or on your own) with a parachute from a plane and make a free-fall at 200 km/124 mi per hour. You have two height/time options: 15,000 ft-4,572 m/60 sec and 12,000 ft-3,657 m/45 sec. When the parachute opens, you can relax and enjoy the breathtaking view of Mount Hutt and Canterbury Plains.
