Surfing in Long Beach, Rockport, Massachusetts USA

Long beach is a sandy, extensive beach, close to Good Harbor beach.

In fact, the spot is located among Gloucester and Rockport, however, it’s considered to belong mostly to Rockport. Parking is easy, as you can find a lot of parking lots in the area, but note that it is not for free.

It is a rather protected spot so there is no particular wind and swell directions. Swell size starts working at 1.5 to 2 m/4 to 6 ft and can reach up to 2.5 m/8 ft. You won’t find a lot of people here neither in week days nor in weekends. Suitable for both experienced and beginner surfers and especially beginners are most likely to find help if needed. The beach does not reserve any hazards, so no need to worry about it.

Being so close to  Gloucester and Rockport, one can find a lot of options for accommodation and restaurants, while the spot attracts a lot of tourists during summer time.

How to Get to Destination

BY CAR FROM Boston
38.4 miles (61.799 km), 51 minutes
Head southwest at Tremont St to School St, turn right at Park St and then left at Beacon St. Turn right at MA-28 N, then follow I-93 N/US-1 N/Tobin Bridge to continue at Interstate 93 N/Concord New Hampshire and then enter I-93 N. Take exit 37A to enter I-95 N/MA-128 towards Peabody. At the circular node continue towards Massachusetts Route 128, turn left at Eastern Ave, right at Barn Ln then left at Thatcher Rd and Good Harbor beach is on your right.
