Half of the pistes are suitable for beginners and intermediates and  half of them, marked as red flagged, are suitable for experienced snowboarders.  There is only one black piste, which  is the West Wall at Coire na Ciste. You can reach the site by renting a car from Aberdeen airport or by coach.
Preferable period to visit with good quality snow is anytime between October and early June. Always check the weather before a visit, as strong winds may be the reason for shutting down the lifts. There are two schools with instructors that can help you learn snowboarding and they also provide the appropriate gear for rental.
