Christchurch is situated in Canterbury region of the South Island, and is the second largest city of New Zealand. It represents the getaway to Antarctica, while lying next to Pegasus Bay and the Pacific Ocean.

This ski area of 1100 ac/4.45 km² has a lot to offer to visitors, with the annual snowfall reaching up to 25 ft / 7.6 m. The summit is at 8000 ft / 2438 m and there is both Alpine and Nordic terrain. There are runs for beginners, but the terrain is more suitable for intermediate and advanced athletes. The alpine area features 21 runs, of which 20% are for beginners, 38% for advanced snowboarders and 42% for experts. Three lifts serve the area and the longest run you can find is 1.5 mi / 2.4 km.
Closest cities are La Grande and Baker City, however there aren’t many options regarding hotels nearby and you should better make reservations just to make sure.
