Ushuaia is the capital city of the Tierra del Fuego province in Patagonia, commonly referred as the southernmost city in the world, being also an important naval base. It is located in a wide open bay, on the south coast of Isla Grande de Terra del Fuego and bordered in the north by the Martial mountain range.

Ushuaia has subpolar oceanic climate with warm summers and cool winders. The city is surrounded by Magellanic subpolar forest rich in flora and fauna with several recreation activities. Cerro Castor ski resort is located on the hillside of the Cerro Krund mountain, with a top elevation of 3468 ft/1057 m, half an hour away from the city of Ushuaia.

The amazing landscape of sea and mountain, plus the stable temperatures that provide with a very good powder snow quality and the longest season in South America, make this place one of the top destinations for ski boarding enthusiasts, from all around the world. Modern lift facilities including chairlifts, T-bars and three magic carpets, a snowpark, mountain shelters, snowboard school, snowboard gear shops and rentals, restaurants, first aid services and a lenga beech forest, make the Cerro Krund ski resort a wonderland for winder activities. The standard ski season starts from June to October and the temperatures varies from 5°C to -5°C/41°F to 23°F.

In addition, the ski resort features a S.I.F. Competition rink, suitable for International and National competitions, ideal for the most extreme ski boarders.
