Glenorchy is a small settlement, situated in Otago region, in the South Island, New Zealand. It lies on the northern side of Lake Wakatipu and is surrounded by Richardson and Humboltd Ranges.

It is located at 44 km/27 mi from Queenstown (a breathtaking, scenic drive) and consists the gateway to Fiordland and Mount Aspiring National Parks. Glenorchy and the surrounding area was the setting for the legendary films Lord of the Rings and X-Men Origins.

Intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the ultimate activity of heli-skiing. You will be transferred by helicopter (there is no other access) to untouched private mountain terrains.

Enjoy a great variety of trails for intermediate to expert runners or create your own. A nutcracker rope tow (700 m/2296 ft long) will give you 300 m/984 ft vertical lift and the chance to explore the area. Don’t forget to bring your sunglasses with you!
