Mooloolaba is a popular tourist destination, located at 97 km/60 mi in the north of Brisbane, the capital state. Mooloolaba provides a port with its marinas, beautiful ocean beaches, a vast number of quality restaurants, stylish cafe and great bars.

Mooloolaba Beach is located close to Point Cartwright and it is considered to be the safest beach on Sunshine Coast. The spot caters for a variety of facilities, including Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club, a large car park, BBQ facilities and playgrounds for the kids. Mooloolaba is a beach break that provides with the right conditions for surfers and body-boarders. The average water temperature is around 28°C/82.4°F in summer and around 20°C/68°F in winter.

Offshore winds usually blow from the southwest and the ideal swell direction is from the east. The spot is appropriate for body-boarders of all levels. Here you are able to explore the waves with swell sizes that can hold up to 3 m/10 ft.  In addition, the best tide position is all tides. It is a popular site, so it is usually crowded. Last but not least, apart from body-boarding you can take a short coastal walk or jogging from Mooloolaba Esplanade to the Mooloolaba Rock wall and enjoy the amazing view of the sea. Note: be careful of rips.

Head northwest on George St toward Burnett Ln. Take the second left onto Ann St. Join Pacific Motorway/M3 via the ramp to Coronation Drive / Toowong. Continue to follow the M3. Take the exit on the right towards Sunshine Coast. Join Boomerang St/M3. Continue to follow the M3. Take the exit toward Metroad 3/Sunshine Coast. With controlled toll road. Enter the Airport Link M7. Toll road. Take exit. Toll road. Continue straight ahead. Slight right to Gympie Rd/A3. Continue on M3 (signs for Sunshine Coast / Nambour). Continue to Bruce Hwy/M1. Take exit 194 on State Route 70/Sunshine Motorway to Buderim / Mooloolaba. Slight left at Sunshine Motorway / State Route 70. Continue to Sunshine Motorway / State Route 6. Take exit State Route 6/Brisbane Road to Mooloolaba. Join Brisbane Rd / State Route 6. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit towards Foote St. Turn left on River Esplanade. Continue to Mooloolaba Esplanade.
