BIO
For many years, Eito has been widely known as one of the most progressive vert skaters of all time and he has now entered a league of his own. Eito started quad skating at the age of three and changed to inline when he was nine years old. Eito creates unbeatable runs, bringing not only brilliant style and explosive height, but also the most progressive and intimidating line ever seen.
His signature tricks include the 1080 California Roll, a twister and a double back flip. Eito’s strength is his consistency. Eito has 20 years of experience while traveling to 25 countries doing half-pipe shows. Eito is still participating in shows around the world showing people inline vert skating at its highest level, creating new fans in every show.
INTERVIEW
What are you looking for to accomplish?
I didn’t start this sport because I liked it. Both of my parents were pro roller disco skaters. That’s why I started skating when I was 2. It was not my choice to start it! haha But I chose to keep skating for myself when I was 12.
So now I can say skate is my life and I am an inline skater. I will never stop skating and will keep looking for a way to be better than now till end. I just want to be good.
What would be your greatest achievement?
When I was 16, I broke my leg. I was in hurry back to skate for 1999 X Games. I could get back to skate and I was so happy about I could skate with my friends and compete with them. No pressures, I enjoyed skate in that situation and I won. It was like a dream and I could be one of the top skaters in the world.
What kind of difficulties does your sport’s performance involve?
I think this is same for all sports… But I always try to keep same conditions by myself. Sound simple, but it is not simple… especially with kids.
What makes you feel satisfied when performing your sport?
Of course win the contest. And I am so excited and happy when I could find new good feeling or view point in skating. It’s like “I got a chance to get better now!”.
Where do you practice your techniques when being alone?
Yasutoko Brothers has a skatepark in Kobe Japan. Name is “g”skatepark. This is our family business since 1995 in Japan.
I am skating everyday to practice myself and teaching at skate class. We welcome you always for skate session with us or sightseeing!!

What do you do during your training which is key to your success?
Now I am 31, I will be 32 in this July. So I do running without skate boots for train. I think this is most important to keep competing for the next 10 years.
What are you most nervous about when competing?
This season is the 20th season for me and my brother Takeshi Yasutoko since 1995. Now, we need to show people that good skating, good battle between me and my brother.
I am so happy about our position but if I won’t be ready to compete with good condition then I will be very nervous to be in contest…
Who would you say is your biggest fan and why?
I think it was my wife before we got babies. Now my sons are watching my skate video all the time. And my first son said “I would like to be a good skater like dad and Takeshi”. I am also the biggest fan of them.
What is the best piece of advice you have been ever given?
Don’t think, Feel. (By: Bruce Lee) haha
What are your future plans?
I am skating in a lot of demos with great pro skate boarders, BMX and other sport specialists. But a lot of my friends who are pro inline skaters are looking for a job and finding how to arrive with own sports…
So I do start making my own events in Europe and Asian countries and we will find a way to how professional inline skaters can make business. I made an event company “Lizard Sports Academy” in Turkey with my business partner. I will make some events and shows with my team and create new business for Pro Inline Skaters.
What are your tips for those who begin now?
You will get a special power with Inline Skate, like me!
Inline skate will give you a lot of new experiences and possibility in your life. I think you already know what I’m talking about. For example, CAR, Airplane, Train, Bicycle…
Inline skate is the same thing to me. You drive a car because you can go far and fast than your running right? Inline Skate makes me go high air and gives me a lot of possibility to try new move also traveling other countries to see around the world! So If you are interested then please get to try it to open your new world.
Also Inline Skate is a great sport for fitness and exercise! Because these are lightening relief to your body load! So if you have any reasons and can’t go running fitness like have some knee or back pain then please try to “Inline Skate Exercise” for your new fitness.
And this is good exercise for off-training for all sports which is needed to balance or use trunk of the body! I am doing “Inline Skate Exercise” and “Halfpipe Exercise” to people who can’t keep going to the gym.
