Wenatchee is the largest city of Chelan County, located in North Central Washington and lies on the west side of the Columbia River. The city is also known as the Apple Capital of the world, due to the valley's many apple cultivations.
Stormy Mountain Road is located in one hour away from Wetchanee Town, between Lake Wetchanee and Columbia River. It is 36 mi/57 km long, (point to point), with minimal elevation gain, suitable for all skill levels. However, after the 4000 ft/1219 m, the route is narrow with long drop-offs.
You may also come across large rocks and washouts. As you drive along the mountain ridge, you will have the opportunity to admire amazing views of the Cascade Mountains and Lake Chelan. Don’t forget to take a map and a compass or a GPS with you.
