Mornington Peninsula lies to the southeast of Melbourne, Victoria’s capital city. It is surrounded by Western Port to the east and Port Phillips to the west. Surfers can explore the waves with swell sizes from 1 m-1.5 m /3 ft-5 ft and holds up to 2 m /6 ft.
The best tide movement is rising and falling tides and the ideal tide position is mid and high tide. In summer, the wind blows offshore at 21%, in autumn the wind blows at 41%, in winter at 53% and in spring at 34%. The site is suitable for experienced surfers. Offshore winds blow from the north, northwest and the ideal swell direction is from the south, southwest.
Last but not least, if you are a trekking fun then you should take a coastal walk, the Bushrangers Bay Track and get some breathtaking views over the sea. Note: watch out for sharks and rocks.
