Kailua Kona is located in the North Kona District, Hawaii. It is a lively seaside town with sunny tropical weather all year long and lies at the bottom of the Hualalai Volcano.

The town hosts many interesting historical sites and is famous for its Kona Coffee cultivations and the crystal clear sea. Kona International Airport is located at fifteen minutes away in the south of the main town. However, Milolii Bay is not recommended for beginners. The bay is located 30 mi/48 km south of Kailua, next to Milolii a small traditional fishing village. Milolii Bay has an average depth of 4.6 m/15 ft and maximum depth 18.3 m/60 ft with no sea currents and good visibility.
