Isabela is a coastal city, located on the northwest coast of Puerto Rico. It is also known as the “Garden of the Northwest”, due to the unique combination of beautiful beaches, submarine rivers, caves, a rainforest and interesting archaeological sites. Jobos is located just after Arecibo and is a popular watersport location, as it offers incredible surfing and kitesurfing experiences all year round.
It is probably the windiest site on the island. The swell sizes usually start from 1 m/3 ft and hold up to 2.5 m/8 ft. In addition, the best wind direction is from the east and the ideal period to visit the beach is from October to July. The sandy beach provides enough space to launch your kite, but be careful when entering the sea, as there are a lot of sea urchins.
In summer, the wind blows offshore at 9%, in autumn it blows at 21%, in winter at 12% and in spring at 23%. Furthermore, the average water temperature is 28°C/82.4°F and the spot is suitable for intermediate and advanced kiters. Finally, Jobos can get very crowded with surfers, windsurfers and other kiters.
