Wenatchee is the largest city of Chelan County, located in North Central Washington and lies on the west side of the Columbia River. The city is also known as the Apple Capital of the world, due to the valley's many apple cultivations.

Rainbow Falls is located a little over Icicle Rd, outside Leavenworth Town. It is an easy accessible ice climb, with a lot of ice and good climbing conditions. There are two different routes you can climb. The first one is Rainbow Falls Right, which is the long flow up the right side and Rainbow Falls Left, which is a steep and more challenging climb, on the left corner of the Gully area.

The skill level required to climb the right side is WI3. The route is vertical with long steep sections, but has rest spots and good protection. The skill level required to climb the left section is WI4+. The route has good protection but has more vertical sections and fewer rest spots. Both sides top out to chain anchors.

Rainbow Falls is an exciting adventure, for both beginner and advanced ice climbing enthusiasts. Climbers should take two ropes, five to six screws and ice tools. Always check the weather conditions before you choose this climb due to high avalanche danger on the area.
